Welcome to ChrisEichner.com

I am an award winning landscape and still life thread painter who teaches in Western North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.

The thread painting on the right is a close up Coneflowers and Day Lilies, a workshop which will be taught on a cruise on Oct. 4-12, 2012 on the Royal Caribbean “Enchantment of the Sea”. For more information, check out my schedule page.

"A day without thread painting is like a day without sunshine."

I love sharing this gift with others.

Upcoming Class: "Aspen Woodlands"

Yes, you can make this beautiful landscape, too!

Landscape Thread Painting: Welcome to free-motion embroidery. Thread painting a landscape design is created by layering beautiful fabrics as you learn about the importance of scale, value and perspective to achieve desired realistic results. Embellish with rayon, cotton and metallic threads, bringing trees, rocks, fauna and gentle cascading waterfalls to life. Utilizing 2 basic stitches, the straight and zig-zag stitch, you will discover how to set your specific machine tensions in order to overcome the frustration of sewing with assorted weights and specialty threads. Stabilizing the foundation with stabilizers, which I have found work best, ensures against puckering and will produce a beautiful work of art.

This realistic, free-motion, "thread-painted" landscape class will be taught on Friday, June 8th,
at Western Carolina University in Cullowee, North Carolina.
